Chapter 19 — The Aircraft Doesn’t Care Who You Used to Be
She did not go back to active military service.
People assumed she would, after the flight, after the story got out; there were offers, and respectful letters, and more than one person who told her the sky was where she belonged and ought to return in uniform.
But she had learned something in seat 8A and in the right-hand seat beside Mark Davis that pointed her a different way.
She did not need to go to war to be a pilot.
