Gregory Hale entered the stairwell behind Nathan, followed by a hospital security officer. Gregory looked pale but determined. “Mrs. Pierce, please hand over the device.”

“Why?”

“It may contain protected health information.”

“Then you should be very concerned that a stranger entered this hospital carrying my husband’s badge and removed documents from his office.”

Gregory pressed his lips together.
