And I said, “Because Grandma Wendy told me, and she’s been alive for sixty-seven years and she’s never been wrong about anything, ask anybody.”
He laughed.
Then he went to sleep.
I sat on the hallway floor outside his door for about forty minutes.
Wendy came on the Thursday as promised, and every Thursday after.
She brought food I did not need and did not ask for.
