There was an interviewer afterward, a young woman from a trade publication, and she asked me a question that I do not think she understood the size of.

She asked how I keep trusting people.

She meant clients.

She meant contractors.

She had no idea and I did not tell her.

And what I said was this, and I have thought about it since and I would say it again.

“I trust people.

I trust almost everybody, and I always have, and I don’t intend to stop, because the alternative is a very small life.
