It stands about fourteen inches out from it, and the panel behind it is not a wall.
I got the panel open, went in on my hands and knees, and pulled it shut until the magnet took.
And then I sat on the floor of a space four feet by six feet, in the dark, in a house my father built out of a ruin, with my hand over my own mouth.
Six minutes later I heard a key in the front door.
