The Sixteen Seconds
Two documents were altered and one was not, and the one that was not is the reason there was a case at all.
The first alteration was the police report.
A patrol officer named Wendell Pree responded to the Gaddis property at 5:14 p.m. on the twelfth of October — thirty-two minutes after the cancellation — because a cancelled EMS call with a reported child struck by a vehicle generates a welfare check under the district’s own protocol, which is a rule nobody on that property knew existed.
Officer Pree was on the place for nineteen minutes.
