Part Ten: Four Reasons, In Order

I spent about eight months wanting one thing more than I wanted a conviction, which was to know what was actually in Arliss Gaddis’s head in the four minutes between 4:38 and 4:42 on a Saturday afternoon.

I have most of it now.

It came from a Ranger’s interview, two witness statements, a civil deposition, and one thing Arliss himself said out loud in a courtroom, and it is not what I expected and it is considerably worse.
