The Sixteen Seconds
She was on that concrete within seven seconds and she did not leave her daughter’s side for the next six hours except twice.
She cancelled an ambulance at 4:42.
She got ice.
She got a blanket.
She had someone cut the jeans off with kitchen shears rather than pulling them, which is correct and which she knew from somewhere.
She had them carry Wren inside on a door panel from the shop rather than by the arms and legs, which is also correct.
She sat on the floor by that couch for six hours and held our daughter’s hand and told her she was going to be fine.
