Six years later, Santiago came home a lawyer.
He had finished his studies and met every requirement to practice, and he had turned down the comfortable position waiting for him inside his grandfather’s company.
Instead, with a handful of colleagues who believed what he believed, he founded an organization that gave legal help to two kinds of people he knew from the inside: young victims of domestic violence, and low-income students trying to reach the scholarships that could change their lives.
He did not need the Barrera name to open those doors.
