I tapped the legal seal on the document against the glass.
“This is the official trust transfer,” I said to my father.
“Every single cent of that settlement has already been legally transferred into the Albright Child Safety Foundation.
It is run by an independent board of directors, chaired by Jonathan’s parents, and monitored by state officials.
It will fund monitoring systems for commercial truck drivers, and build safety barriers along the stretch of Route 66 where my family died.
It is done.
