Chapter 12 — Personal Guaranty
Callum ripped off his sunglasses, read the signature at the bottom of the guaranty, and said my name in a voice I had never heard from him before.
“Reyna?” It came out thin and cracked, stripped of every ounce of the easy authority he had worn for eight months like a coat he had not paid for.
He looked from the blue ink on the page up to my face and back down again, as if one of them might change if he checked enough times.
“What is this?
What did you do?”
“I didn’t do anything, Callum,” I said, and took the leather folder from Kira.
