It went in eleven days and it went well, because the market was what it was and because I had kept every receipt for every improvement since 2016 and the appraiser said so out loud.

On the last day, at the walkthrough, we stood in the empty living room together for about four minutes.
“I thought we’d get old in this house,” Logan said.
“So did I.”
And that was true, and there was nothing dishonest in either of us saying it, and we had genuinely loved each other for a long time in those rooms.
