The survival of Inuit societies after the disappearance of the Norse therefore does not prove that climate alone caused the Norse collapse.

But it does demonstrate that Greenland itself remained habitable.

The island did not become empty.

Human life continued.

The real question becomes more precise:

Why did one way of living disappear while another continued?

That is a much richer archaeological problem than the idea that Greenland simply became too cold for humans.

The Inuit presence also demonstrates the importance of technology.
