The Voice She Thought She’d Lost
“She doesn’t get to decide that!” he roared, and the words rang out clear across the yard, and I noted, somewhere in the cool back of my mind, that the camera above the door had just recorded a man declaring that his wife did not get to make her own decisions.
He shook the folder again.
“Do you have any idea what your little stunt is costing my business?
Do you?
You did this.
You filled her head with poison, you brought in that shark of a lawyer, you cut off my access”
And there it was, out of his own mouth, the truth of the whole thing.
He was not standing on my porch because his heart was broken.
