A lie is the opposite.
A lie is frantic and energetic and social; it has to move, and move fast, and get itself established in as many minds as possible before the slow truth ever arrives, because a lie’s only hope of survival is to become the accepted version before anyone thinks to check.
And so, in the race between them, the lie almost always gets a head start, because the lie is running and the truth is standing still.
