The Whole World
Before we reached the doors, Judge Harlan called out. “Nolan.”
My son turned around.
“You are a very brave young man,” the judge said softly.
“But remember this: it was never your responsibility to save your mother today. The adults in this room should have seen the truth sooner. Never forget that you are a good son.”
Nolan nodded, a small, genuine smile breaking across his face.
