Chapter 13 — The Lining
She came back to it four days later. That is her method and it always has been; she goes away and constructs and returns.
She came into the kitchen on a Saturday morning and said, “I want to ask you something and I want you to not be a lawyer about it.”
“Okay.”
“Uncle Ronald told me a story once. About the night you called Uncle Grant.” She sat down. “He said you had a satellite phone hidden in your bag and you called and Grant said I’m taking the jet now.”
“That’s true.”
