Chapter 9 — Walk Me Home

Outside, Manhattan went on as if nothing had happened. Taxis passed. A delivery driver argued with someone on the phone. A woman pushed a stroller through the crosswalk.

Lena stood beside Adrian on the building’s steps.

“What happens to Diana?” he asked.

“She’ll rebuild something smaller.”

“Will you go after her?”

“Not unless she moves first.”
