I sat in that room and thought about a woman in a scarlet dress bumping the back of my chair on purpose.
“Because I wanted him to see me,” I said.
Somebody on the panel shifted.
“General—” Kessler began.
“I’d like to finish, and then I’ll take my counsel’s advice for the rest of the day.”
Reeve said, “Go ahead.”
