Objects described as pins or awls, possibly decorated with incised lines, are consistent with personal adornment or with tools used in specific crafts.

Incised decoration on bone objects from this period is not unprecedented — the Paisley Caves assemblage and other early western North American sites have produced decorated bone artifacts — but each documented example adds to a picture of symbolic and aesthetic practices that extended back to the earliest periods of human presence in the Americas.

The badger baculum remains the most unusual object in the assemblage.
