Chapter 14 — The Lockout

I pushed through the glass doors into the bright sunlight, took out my phone, logged into my account matrix, and looked at the prompt asking whether I was certain I wished to revoke all supplementary privileges.

I was certain.

I had been certain for weeks.

I tapped the screen twice. Supplementary Card One, deactivated.

Supplementary Card Two, deactivated. Then I updated every security PIN, changed the verbal passphrases, and flagged the primary accounts for the highest level of fraud protection.

In under a minute, the financial support that had sustained Christopher Lawson for seven years was cleanly severed.
