Justice is precise.

Justice takes the trouble to separate the guilty from the innocent, to remove the executives who committed the fraud while preserving the livelihoods of the workers who did not, to burn only what deserves burning and to protect what deserves protecting.

And that precision is expensive; it took far more work, far more care, far more of my time, to ring-fence those eighty jobs than it would have taken to simply liquidate everything.

But the precision was the entire point, because the precision is what made it justice rather than vengeance.
