This Is Compliance
So I did the thing he was not prepared for, the thing that looked, to everyone including him, like defeat.
I walked away.
I let him have the money and the house and the satisfaction of believing he had crushed me.
And I took, instead, the things he did not think to guard, because he did not think they had value: my licenses, my reputation, my clean exit, and one quiet drive of records I filed away and told no one about.
It looked like surrender.
