When the recorded Wesley asked what happened if Rosalie refused to cooperate, Emmett answered coldly.
“That’s why we pay Callaway. Give her the proper dose, and he signs whatever we put in front of him.”
The room went dead quiet.
Rosalie felt Manuel’s hand brush hers, and she laced her fingers through his.
Emmett saw it and lost the last of his composure, shouting across the court. “Your mother wanted to tear this family apart, too. If she hadn’t hidden that notebook, she’d still be alive!”
The judge’s head came up sharply. “Are you admitting, on the record, that you knew your wife was in mortal danger?”
