Across eighteen months I spent approximately a hundred and forty hours in that building and approximately nine of them in a courtroom.

Everybody waits in the same room.

There is no separate area.

My sister and I sat in that waiting area, on the same bank of chairs, twenty-three times, sometimes four feet apart, sometimes four hours.
