I met her once, formally, in a small room on the fourth floor, on the nineteenth of October, at my own request, and she agreed to see me for twenty minutes and gave me forty-one.

I went in there prepared to be treated as a suspect and I was not, and what she actually did was explain her own job, carefully, to a woman who was terrified, and I have never forgotten it.
