The parents are each represented; Perla and Curtis had separate attorneys from the first day, which I did not expect and which is standard, because their interests are not the same and everybody in that building knows it before they do.

And the child is represented.

That is the part nobody outside the system knows about.

In Cook County a minor in a case like this gets the Office of the Public Guardian, and that office has its own lawyers, and those lawyers do not work for the State and do not work for the parents and are not there to be reasonable.

They act for the baby.
