Chapter 1 — Working Late

My name is Yasmin Renwick, and the day my husband’s mistress crossed a line at his office was the day everything changed.

My husband, Conrad Carrow, was the chief executive of a nationwide logistics company.

To the public he was respected, successful, generous.

At home he had become distant and cold and forever “working late.” I suspected he was having an affair, but I had no proof.

So one afternoon I decided to surprise him — not to accuse him, only to bring him lunch, the way I used to before we became strangers who shared an address.

Chapter 2 — Behind His Desk

Instead of my husband, I found his executive assistant, Blair Sefton, sitting behind his desk in his suit jacket, while Conrad stood beside her, laughing.

The moment she saw me, her smile vanished.

“So you’re finally here,” she sneered.

Conrad looked uncomfortable.

“Yasmin — this isn’t what it looks like.” I asked one calm question.

“Then explain it.” Blair walked toward me.

“You should stop pretending you’re still his wife.” I ignored her and turned to my husband.
