Chapter 25 — Madam Chairwoman

I smiled at my reflection — a real smile, one that reached my eyes.

After Conrad’s removal, the board had asked me to step into an active role.

It was not the six percent that put me in the chair; it was the Renwick Trust, and the board’s own decision that the company needed a Renwick in it again.

Over the past year, alongside Thaddeus and a reformed executive team, I had restructured the company, built strict ethical-oversight programs, and brought our quarterly revenues back to historic highs.
