However, the millions he has amassed and the subsequent lavish life he can lead are in stark contrast to the 48-year-old’s humble upbringing.
Gloria Campano and Charles John Cooper reportedly welcomed Cooper into the world on January 5, 1975, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His father was a stockbroker and his mother worked at a nearby NBC station, but both made sure to be present to give their son the best possible upbringing.
In Cooper’s own words, his early years were straightforward and pleasant. His parents instilled in him basic qualities such as dignity and respect, as well as his desire to become a soldier or ninja when he grows up.
I begged my father to send me to Valley Forge Military Academy, Cooper once remarked. Before, I believed that only ninjas could understand the meaning of life and death. I begged my father to send me to Japan so I could start my ninja training.
Cooper became interested in acting as a youngster, and although he had a tough road to success, his dedication and hard work undoubtedly paid off.
However, Cooper has always been a family man, so when his father died surrounded by his loved ones in 2011, his world was devastated.
According to accounts, the elder Cooper died of lung cancer; Bradley helped care for him in the months before his death. At that time, the already famous actor even moved in with his parents so that he could be closer to his father and take better care of him.
Sadly, Bradley was the one holding his father when he died.
It’s a completely different world, Bradley added. “And it happened right away. Not like months later, no. I was holding him at that moment and it was like everything changed with his last breath.”
While Cooper found the experience “overwhelming and extremely stressful,” he was grateful to be able to help.
The actor vowed to honor his father’s legacy and cherish their memories together when his father passed away.
In addition, his relationship with his mother strengthened. According to sources, the actor began spending more time with her and even took a trip to Europe with her before inviting her to live with him at his home in Los Angeles.
