In this candid moment, she opens up about what she calls a “manic meltdown” she experienced at a Los Angeles restaurant on a Friday night, which she attributes to a bit too much tippling. But that’s not all; she also expresses her preference for her new name moving forward.
In her own words, she shares, “I’ve been hanging out at my Aunt Suzy’s place. We baked three pies for the church service this Sunday!!! Apparently, the men love the cherry, while the women are all about that banana!!!”
She goes on, “But, you know, this whole tipsy episode making headlines and dredging up my past – it’s like they’re trying to paint me as some kind of redeemed lady we can all go ‘AWWW’ about! A friend from my neighborhood tells me I’ll pay for it for the rest of my life!!! Well, dear friend, if you ever had a taste of my pie… let’s just say, I’d deliver it with my fabulous self.”
And then she adds, “I reckon my past naivety in trusting these so-called TRUSTEES leaves them with no place else to turn… not to an ice bowl, not to demonstrate their relevance, but maybe to my behind when comparing a genuine church service to a misguided setup. Which one, folks?” Concluding her heartfelt post, the 41-year-old songstress cheekily notes, “Oh, and a different shade of RED!!!”
Later on, Britney shares an image of the fiery planet Mars, accompanied by the caption, “A bright one… take it slow!!! Thanks to an old childhood friend, I found my ball… never underestimate the power of purity!!! I see right through it all… it’s liquid, it’s wet, it’s playful, it’s substantial!!! My name is now River Red!!! But it’s the fire that truly shines, inviting us to gaze into its depths with no fear whatsoever!!!!”
To cement her new identity as River Red, Britney updates her Instagram handle. This change follows swirling rumors about her former flame, the NSYNC singer Justin Timberlake. She sets the record straight by stating that the heart tattoo she sports “has absolutely nothing to do with a past flame.”
“Just to be clear… my tattoo isn’t some relic of a bygone relationship!!! I got it because I wanted to!!! That pic with my ex is a snapshot from a time when things were less complicated, you know… it is what it is,” she explains.
