Four-year-old Tadeáš, one of Henderson’s younger children, slipped out of the house unnoticed and went to play with a neighbor on the street. Linley quickly realized that he was lost—within 10 to 15 minutes—and immediately brought him back home. However, they did not know that the concerned neighbor had already contacted the authorities.
When Henderson returned home, the police were waiting to update her on the situation. What started as a simple misunderstanding spiraled into a life test.
Two weeks later, Henderson was arrested, handcuffed and taken to jail. She endured the humiliation of being ordered and placed in a cell. The experience left her feeling devastated, helpless and unable to provide for her family.
Although her ex-husband was able to post bail for her release, Henderson now faces an ongoing legal battle. If convicted, she could face up to one year in prison and a $1,000 fine. The stress and uncertainty surrounding this case took its toll on her and her family.
