Who would have thought that a seemingly silly child’s vow made in preschool would grow into a spectacular fairytale wedding? Matt Grodsky and Laura Scheel from Phoenix, Arizona have loved each other since preschool when they were just little kids full of love and creativity.
According to their How We Met Instagram account, Matt and Laura first connected over 20 years ago when they were both students. When asked about his first memories of Laura, Matt remembered standing in front of their class and telling everyone he was going to marry her one day. It was a charming and lovely welcome.
Matt couldn’t have predicted what marriage would be like then; perhaps he meant that it was what many people would consider puppy love back then. As they spent more time together, they developed a deeper relationship with each other.
In fact, Laura taught Matt even the most basic skills like swinging, drawing hills, and how to properly consume string cheese. Along with playing hide-and-seek, Matt remembers staying up past his designated bedtime.
According to HuffPost, when they were younger, Matt allegedly used a corny pick-up line from Disney’s “The Lion King” in an attempt to woo Laura.
I was trying to impress her at a preschool Cinco de Mayo party when we were trying to open the piata. Luckily it was me and I think that got her attention,” Matt acknowledged.
But it was only a matter of time before they would finish elementary school and part ways after graduation. But there’s no denying that love works in unexpected ways.
Laura accidentally discovered Matt’s phone number while looking up a friend’s phone book. A mutual acquaintance tried to get them back together in their first year, but she refused.
I was hesitant to ask him out. However, when he texted me, we got together.
According to Laura, The Huffington Post.
After two weeks of dating, the two became boyfriend and girlfriend, which typified their adorable and sassy high school dating life. Since they had to attend different universities in different states, they had to maintain a long-distance relationship, which added another challenge to their budding romance.
According to Dr. According to Randy Schroeder, author of “Simple Habits for Marital Happiness,” long-distance relationships are especially challenging because you have to rely almost entirely on communication to keep your relationship going, which can take more work than a typical relationship.
But it was determination, perseverance, and undying love for each other that Laura and Matt used to get through their own college years. It took until May 2015 for the power couple’s fated love to take a turn.
Matt finally got down on one knee and proposed to Laura, fulfilling a promise he made when he was still in preschool. With more strength, conviction, and an abundance of love, he did it.
He stated: “I fell in love with Laura when I was a child and I still do.
Eventually, Laura agreed and the two were married in 2016 in their happily ever after wedding. Six years after the two’s heartfelt love story that began as puppy love in preschool, they celebrated Lily’s first birthday.
Matt and Laura’s story serves as a reminder that love knows no bounds and that even the simplest childhood promise can develop into a lifelong commitment. It shows the power of destiny and the extraordinary journey two individuals can take when guided by the unyielding compass of love.
As Matt and Laura continue to build their lives together, their story resonates with hope, reminding us that true love can stand the test of time, distance, and obstacles. Their preschool commitment blossomed into a love story for the ages that inspire others to cherish the connections they’ve made along their own life journeys.
I wish them the best for the rest of their lives.
