Our Dell Inspiron 15 3000 reviews have found this laptop to be an ideal choice if you’re on the lookout for a portable computer that can easily run a variety of applications and handle tasks like web browsing and video streaming with ease.

The inclusion of an 8th Gen Intel Core i3 processor with 8GB of RAM lets you take advantage of the fast speeds, while its 256GB solid-state drive gives you plenty of space to store all your pictures, videos, and other files without worrying about running out of room anytime soon.

Introduction

Dell is one of those brands that may not be as well-known as Apple or Samsung, but their products are of high quality and built to last.

Their Dell Inspiron 15 3000 review shows that, when it comes to laptops, Dell can hold its own. If you’re in the market for a cheap laptop with decent specs and impressive battery life, then consider getting your hands on a Dell Inspiron 15 3000 laptop.

It’s fairly easy to use, convenient and reliable — even if there are some issues here and there. While it may not be able to compete with pricier, flashier laptops in terms of specs and performance, you have to remember that Dell is not a high-end brand.

$312.99 for Intel Core i3 3217U Processor

At under $312USD, though, it’s easy to see why so many customers find their Dell Inspiron 15 3000 review helpful.

As someone who’s purchased one for me and used it for more than a year now, I can definitely say that Dell has created something worth recommending.

The Dell Inspiron 15 3000 is perfect for students, people who need something light but reliable for work, and even families who want something affordable but not completely disposable.

Price

$312.99 for Intel Core i3 3217U Processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 500GB hard drive. $569.99 for an Intel Core i5-3337U Processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 750GB hard drive. Both are available in black or silver (see Amazon pricing here).

The one I reviewed is black with a Wild Berry design on top (which Dell calls patterned lamination). It also comes in blue; red; white, and two shades of green.

The $312.99 laptop is fairly basic, with a 720p (1366×768) LED-backlit display and an Intel Celeron processor. The $569.99 model has an upgrade to a 1080p display, as well as an Intel Core i5 processor.

Both models also have 4GB of memory, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0 wireless connectivity; HDMI output; USB 3.0; and a webcam and microphone for video chats.

I was surprised by how much laptop Dell managed to fit into a $569.99 price tag, especially when you compare it with competing products like HP’s Pavilion dm1z, which is priced around $500 for a similar feature set but with an AMD processor and no SSD.

If you need more features, such as an optical drive or Windows 8, you can always spend more; Microsoft and HP both have laptops in their respective price ranges that offer those capabilities.

But if you’re looking for a good general-purpose laptop at a lower price point than many other alternatives, you should seriously consider Dell’s Inspiron 15 3000 Series laptops.

The Design

The first thing you’ll notice about the Dell Inspiron 15 3000 is its sleek aluminum body. I like that it feels sturdy, but it’s still flexible enough to fit in my backpack.

The laptop is available in five colors, so there should be a shade to suit everyone’s tastes. For those of you who want to save some cash, there are also two cheaper versions with plastic instead of aluminum bodies (although their performances will be worse).

If you’re looking for something flashy and low-key, then I definitely recommend getting a colored body. The four options—red, blue, pink, and silver—are all tasteful without being distracting or tacky.

The laptop’s keyboard is well-spaced, so typing doesn’t feel cramped or uncomfortable. The keys have just enough give to be comfortable when you press them and they provide tactile feedback when you type (something I always appreciate).

If you don’t like that feedback, there are several levels of backlighting. It’s also a good idea to keep in mind that unless you really want it to, there will be no light emanating from your screen.

The screen itself is matte and has excellent viewing angles; it doesn’t wash out at all no matter how much you tilt it up or down. Like most modern laptops, its display isn’t touchscreen-enabled either, but I haven’t found myself missing it yet in daily use.

Display

When it comes to its display, Dell really delivered. The 14-inch screen offers a full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution with a pixel density of 141 PPI, which is crisp and clear enough for reading the text without any issues.

It also boasts an impressive 72% NTSC color gamut, which means colors look vibrant and pleasing to look at. If you’re wondering what that means in layman’s terms, simply put, everything will appear very vibrant and pleasing to your eyes.

This image shows the Dell Inspiron 15 3000 display.

Just keep in mind that if you’re used to looking at top-tier displays like those on laptops from Apple or Lenovo, it may take some time to get used to what appears to be slightly muted colors here. The display’s performance is also top-notch.

Whether you’re gaming, watching videos, or just surfing through your social media feeds, everything will look stunning to you. It is quite a joy watching videos on such a vibrant display, with colors looking extremely rich and vivid.

Video game graphics looked crisp and clear too, so if you want an affordable laptop for gaming and other multimedia content, it offers an above-average experience here.

Software and performance

Dell has streamlined their PC offerings to a single ecosystem of products, software, and services. All Dell computers ship with Microsoft Windows 10 Home pre-installed, but that doesn’t mean you have to stick with it if you don’t want to.

Like most laptops these days, there are multiple ways for users to access apps and services on their machines outside of what comes pre-loaded to them. You can run Firefox or Google Chrome as your primary browser if you’d like (but why would you?).

Other bundled software includes Dell Stage (which is really just a launcher), Mail and Calendar, Photos, and Video Chat clients. It all works smoothly enough, but nothing we haven’t seen before.

In terms of performance, we’ll start with everyday computing. Web browsing is a breeze thanks to its fast boot-up times (under three seconds), snappy operation, and large hard drive (500GB).

Browsing through heavy web pages such as Facebook and Google Docs was also a pleasant experience with no noticeable slowdowns.

The machine earned 959 on Octane 2.0, which puts it in line with other machines using Intel’s 5th Generation Core i3 CPU like Toshiba’s Satellite Radius 14.

It lagged behind other machines powered by Intel’s 6th Generation Core i5 CPUs, though we suspect that bottleneck is caused by Windows 10 Home and not Dell’s hardware itself.

Battery life

The battery life on Dell Inspiron 15 3000 is absolutely crucial because it can make or break your day. To get more work done, you need to be able to stay plugged in without worrying about finding an outlet.

The Dell Inspiron 15 3000 has a battery life of up to 8 hours, which will carry you through most of your workday and then some. When that time runs out, just plug in and keep going.

And if you’re lucky enough to have a few hours free, watch some Netflix for fun with no worries about having to charge up again until morning!

With so many laptops on today’s market, it can be difficult to find one that stands out. But with a battery life of up to 8 hours, which is twice as long as most competitors and even longer than some desktops, you won’t have to worry about your laptop dying before you finish your workday.

Plus, Dell understands that in order for a laptop to really shine it needs top-of-the-line components inside and out. The durable design makes it easy to transport from room to room or office to home when you need a change of scenery.

Notable Features

As mentioned above, Dell has included an anti-glare screen with plenty of brightness. Watching movies on it will be great because glare won’t be an issue at all.

The screen itself is able to hold up to ten finger touches at a time, and its red color design adds a nice touch to it as well. Its visual quality stands out as one of its main features, making it easy for you to view your favorite content without losing any of its quality.

With up to five hours of battery life, you can expect that gaming or watching movies for long periods of time won’t become an issue either.

This laptop also includes dual speakers that deliver a rich sound experience along with great bass levels, so your ears will thank you too!

As you can see, there are plenty of great features that come with Dell’s budget-friendly laptop. With up to five hours of battery life, a visual experience that is both anti-glare and clear, and dual speakers.

It delivers a rich sound experience along with great bass levels, you’ll have no trouble watching movies or playing your favorite games.

This laptop is 15 inches long as well, so it will be easy for you to carry around if you want to bring it with you on vacation or on business trips!

It even has an optional numeric keypad if you need one since its price is so low. If all of these features seem appealing to you then be sure to check out Dell’s Inspiron 15 3000 as soon as possible!

Verdict – Should you buy it?

The answer to that question is a big yes. If you’re looking for a device that’s budget-friendly, but still offers good performance and enough storage space for school or work, then Dell’s laptop should be at the top of your list.

The Dell Inspiron 15 3000 is a great choice for anyone who needs a solid, affordable laptop for school or work. The 8th Gen i5 processor and DDR4 RAM deliver good performance, making it suitable for multitasking, while its 128GB of storage can accommodate your files and photos.

Its compact design also makes it a great option if you’re looking to save space in your backpack or if you’re looking for a lightweight model.

However, its battery life could be better and its screen isn’t particularly sharp or vibrant. It’s still worth your money though because if you’re on a budget then these features don’t really matter as much anyway.
