Denzel Washington is known for his impressive acting skills and his ability to bring depth and complexity to his roles.
In a recent interview, Denzel Washington said that he declined a significant role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that would have paid him over $30 million because he did not want to be a part of what he considered to be a “woke” storyline.
Washington claimed that he was offered the part of a significant character whose covert homosexuality would have been revealed; however, the idea did not appeal to him.
He is not interested in taking part in storylines that he considers to be shallow or superficial, and he is not afraid to decline a big paycheck in order to uphold his values.
Washington did not specify which character he was offered, but Marvel experts have narrowed it down to Thanos or Groot even though they have said that none of those characters was the one he received.
It is impossible to identify which superhero it may have been because Marvel has a huge squad of them. Even the prospect of Agent Carter and Black Widow having a love relationship has been speculated by some fans.
Washington has made it obvious that he is not interested in taking part in storylines that he views as being “woke.” He feels that his skills are better suited for movies with award-winning potential, like his acclaimed performance in “Remember the Titans,” where he received critical acclaim.
