Discover His Remarkable Transformation: From 901 Pounds to His Inspiring New Look

The heartwarming story of Wolfgang, a beagle who battled obesity and found a loving home, serves as a powerful reminder of the transformative impact dedicated pet owners can have on the lives of their animal companions…

A dangerously obese beagle was put on a strict diet by two devoted pet owners. The dog, who weighed a whopping 90 pounds, was rescued from a kill shelter by 40-year-old Chad Schatz and Erin McManis. Luckily, Wolfgang lost over sixty pounds after being rescued from Arizona Beagle Rescue in May 2019 thanks to the kind couple’s strict diet and training regimen.

Wolfgang was forced to follow a strict diet and exercise regimen for three years. He often went for walks outside and also on the dog treadmill. The dog’s weight has now dropped significantly from its previous peak of 90 pounds to a much healthier twenty-seven pounds.

In Wolfgang’s video montage, the dog is first seen weighing 90 pounds and then, at a much healthier twenty-seven pounds, is seen running around the garden. The couple appreciated the help they had along the way to help Wolfgang reach a healthier weight. They wrote Wolfgang’s view in the caption of their video.

“Even though they had trouble loading me into the car, my parents kept telling me I was cute from the moment they picked me up at the shelter. They said I was a unicorn because I was special,” the pair of lawyers said. on the obese_Beagle Instagram channel. At the time of writing, approximately four million people watched the video of Wolfgang losing all his weight.

While some people may find obese pets “cute”, the couple said “extreme obesity in dogs” is anything but charming. Instead, obesity in these animals is a symptom of “neglect or abuse.”

The couple said: “Even a bit more weight on a dog can put a lot of pressure on a dog’s joints. We really think that small, regular measures can lead to significant results.”

There were several milestones that Wolfgang reached on his weight loss journey. For example, the couple tracked the first time he fit through a doggy door, his first mile run, and his first 5k race.

The couple’s caption read: “Still can’t believe I’m an athlete now.”

Experienced animal rescuers include Schatz and McManis. They have been breeding dogs since 2009. According to a People article last December, they had already helped five obese canines before taking on Wolfgang’s case.

At first, they only intended to foster Wolfgang, but the couple changed their minds after falling in love with him and decided to adopt him into their forever family.
