A five-month-old Cane Corso/pit mastiff puppy was left at the SPCA offices in Pennsylvania.
Attached to the stick with the small animal was a note that read: “Good puppy.” The house is broken. The name is missing.
The dog appeared to be crying, but a Facebook post claimed he was fine.
“We literally had to wipe the tears from her eyes,” the SPCA writes.
“We were devastated for her. She was really scared. This adorable little girl, only five months old, was abandoned by probably the only family she’s ever known.”
“But she was safe with us now.
Minerva, an unexpected guest, stayed there—that is until the SPCA found her a new home.
It didn’t take long for the appropriate people to contact the shelter and ask to adopt Minerva because her story was so heartwarming that it caught the attention of many.
Of course, a lot of people were thrilled that Minerva’s story ended well.
“Congratulations to the beautiful Minerva and her equally beautiful forever family,” says one commenter on the page. “Thank you for adopting this sweet baby and giving her such a wonderful home with you.”
Another person said: “Look at those smileys!!!” “You’re incredible! She lets herself be pampered! “Stop crying there!”
Minerva is one of the lucky pets who find loving and caring homes, but the number of dogs that are never adopted is tragically high.
Instead of buying their four-legged friends, the SPCA advises people to think about adopting them.
The Pennsylvania SPCA noted, “We are seeing an increase in the number of dogs left on our property.” “We are seeing an increase in owner abandonment.
It goes without saying that adoptions have slowed considerably.
“Dogs like Minerva are brought in every day. We rescue animals from abuse and neglect. She was abandoned and we rescued them. We also sincerely hope that adoptive families will come forward.”
