Dolly Parton Fondly Remembers the Late Treat Williams

Dolly Parton reflects on her collaboration with the talented actor Treat Williams in the heartwarming holiday film, “Christmas on the Square.”

The news of Williams’ tragic passing at the age of 71 due to a motorcycle accident on June 12th left Parton deeply saddened. Taking to Instagram, she expressed her grief and shared her admiration for the late actor. “I was very saddened to learn of Treat Williams’ passing,” wrote Parton. “I’ve always been a fan, and I recently had the incredible opportunity to work with him on ‘Christmas on the Square.'”

In her heartfelt message, Parton extended her condolences to Williams’ friends and family, emphasizing the kindness, accomplishments, and sweet nature that characterized the actor. “I have never encountered a more gracious, talented, and genuinely warm-hearted individual in my life,” she remarked. “I simply wanted to send my condolences and let his family know that we will forever cherish the wonderful work he left behind.”

In “Christmas on the Square,” Dolly Parton not only graced the screen as an angel but also contributed her songwriting talents to the film, composing all the songs featured in it. The story centers around a wealthy woman named Regina Fuller, who returns to her hometown with the intention of selling the property to a mall developer, displacing the local residents. Williams portrayed the character Carl Pellam, Regina’s former flame, in the movie.

While Treat Williams is best remembered for his notable roles in productions like “Hair” and “Everwood,” his passing was confirmed by his longtime agent, Barry McPherson, leaving a void in the world of entertainment.
