The news of Williams’ tragic passing at the age of 71 due to a motorcycle accident on June 12th left Parton deeply saddened. Taking to Instagram, she expressed her grief and shared her admiration for the late actor. “I was very saddened to learn of Treat Williams’ passing,” wrote Parton. “I’ve always been a fan, and I recently had the incredible opportunity to work with him on ‘Christmas on the Square.'”

The story centers around a wealthy woman named Regina Fuller, who returns to her hometown with the intention of selling the property to a mall developer, displacing the local residents. Williams portrayed the character Carl Pellam, Regina’s former flame, in the movie.
