FATAL FALL

ARISTO TRAGICAL When Prince Harry falls, a family member of his former model Florence Braunell-Bruce dies.

A wealthy elderly man lost his life after falling from his bedroom window while letting his cat out, according to his companion yesterday.

The 98-year-old 8th Marquess of Ailesbury fell after hitting his head on the concrete terrace below.

Michael Brudenell-Bruce’s partner of almost 30 years found him in a pool of blood. He was linked to Florence Brudenell-Bruce, former partner of Prince Harry.

88-year-old author Teresa Marshall de Paoli speculated that he most likely fell while trying to open a window to release a stranded cat, Honeybun.

She described the incident as “strange”. He was covered in blood. “Oh my dear what happened?” he asked him, but he died.

The Marquis, who attended Eton, was pronounced dead by 999 crews called to the building in Shepherd’s Bush, west London. His death was reported to the coroner.

Tereza was not arrested yesterday, although the police treated her death as a “crime scene”.

She could then bid him farewell and rinse his body with his preferred aftershave.

Teresa said they “thought I might have killed him” when they initially noticed he had fallen out of the window.

“It was a wild accident.

“There was no fight and I did not hit him.

“I believe Honeybun the cat rolled out of the window when his head was caught. He staggered and fell onto the terrace.”

“He broke the roses on the wall as he fell.

“I was told that a blow to the back of the head on the concrete would have killed him.

“He could have been there for an hour or an hour and a half. He looked cold and pale.

“I put a pillow under his head. I informed 999 that my partner had been in an accident.

“In about seven minutes the police and an ambulance turned up. I was told the policeman’s wife had killed him.”

“The police officer reported that there was an instant death. The police were treating it as a criminal act.

His daughter Lady Kathryn Brudenell called Bruce after the incident late on Sunday night and she rushed to the scene.

“Lady Kathryn and I had to spend the whole night in the chair. There was no other place available for us to go.

“The police were there all night and the next day.

Before coming to this residence, they spent sixteen years living in a cottage on the family’s 4,500-acre estate in Savernake Forest, near Swindon, Wilts.

Bo Bruce, the Marquis’ granddaughter, took part in the BBC singing show The Voice. The Marquess was divorced three times.

After attending Eton, he joined the Royal Horse Guards as a captain. He then started working as a stockbroker.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “London Ambulance Service called police to an address in Abdale Road, W12, at 8.05 pm on Sunday 12 May after a man in his 90s was found dead.”

“The police and the London Ambulance Service were there.

Friends and family have been notified.

“The death is unexpected but not suspicious.”

The tragic event surrounding the 8th Marquess of Ailesbury, Michael Brudenell-Bruce, has left a deep impact on those close to him and raised questions about the circumstances of his unexpected death. At 98, he lived a long life full of remarkable experiences, including being at Eton and serving as a captain in the Royal Horse Guards. His passing, which his partner Teresa Marshall de Paoli described as a freak accident, highlights the fragility of life, especially in later years.

The details surrounding his fall said to be an attempt to release his cat Honeybun, evoke a sense of sadness and disbelief. Teresa’s candid account of finding him and the subsequent emergency response underscores the chaos and confusion that can accompany sudden loss. Although police initially treated the situation with caution, it has been clarified that the death is not being treated as suspicious.

This unfortunate event serves as a reminder of the unpredictability of life and the importance of cherishing our loved ones. Florence Brudenell-Bruce, a former girlfriend of Prince Harry, is linked to this tragedy and shows how connected our lives can be even in moments of sadness. As friends and family move through their grief, they will no doubt hold on to cherished memories of Marquis, whose legacy will live on through them.
