Free Offer: Louisiana Mansion Considered ‘Haunted’ Available to Adventurous Residents

An interesting offer has been circulating in the heart of Youngsville, Louisiana in recent weeks – a vacant mansion with a reputation for spine-tingling. Built in the 1930s, this ramshackle four-bedroom, three-bathroom home is not just any ordinary; it is often compared to the infamous “Amityville Horror” house. For those brave enough to live in a place that is said to be haunted, this is a unique opportunity. However, the history and legends surrounding this house are enough to give one pause.

The story of this mysterious mansion begins with its current owners, who are trying to sell the property due to its disturbing reputation. Desperate to get rid of this haunted home, they decided to donate it for free. It may sound like an incredible deal, but as the saying goes, “if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.”

However, despite their efforts to get him away, his current owners seem to be having trouble selling him due to his terrifying reputation.

Sylvia McLain, co-owner of McLain Investments, posted three pictures of the house on Facebook to convince a potential buyer to move and restore it so he could build a new building on the property.

However, many former residents and guests have responded and shared their terrifying encounters with the house.

Dawn Vallot DeClout, a former resident, claims the house’s resident ghoul is her own great-grandmother Adele, a 4-foot-9-inch woman who lived to be nearly 90 and preferred to stay in the kitchen.

Dawn stayed there for a year in 1981; her family owned the 160-acre property on which the house was built for more than 100 years.

“There is a ghost and her name is Adele,” she claimed, referring to her great-grandmother.

Her great-grandmother spent most of her life in the house next to the family plantation that her grandparents built and owned. She died in the front room in 1967.

We think [Adele] is a ghost, but she’s not scary at all,” noted Dawn, whose family left the house in the 1980s. Like when you have something on the stove and someone goes to look in the pot and stir it, she was constantly poking around in the pots.

“She was known for it, so when we lived there we would hear her clinking the pot all the time when we had something on the stove.

This four-bedroom, three-bathroom home was built in the 1930s in Youngsville, Louisiana, United States.

Sylvia, a real estate agent, attended the same school as Dawn and grew up about six miles away.

I don’t know if it’s haunted, but I know all the legends around the house, Sylvia (63) noted.

I am aware that the house is often referred to as haunted. When Dawn and her brother played cards in the living room, they would always repeat the story of their great grandmother stirring the pot. Then the last tenant was mentioned, a girl as a “gypsy” because she believed in ghosts and other paranormal things.

Even the previous resident claimed to have had a ghost check done.

Sylvia has trouble selling the house because the neighbors compare it to the “Amityville House of Horrors.”

It seemed that many potential new owners recommended it to their friends, but each time they declined, mentioning that the house was “haunted”.

On social media, Gary Alleman stated: “Yes, it’s haunted there. I had three unexplained experiences there and my friend who lived there had more.

I knew someone who rented it, another person said. I participated in it. Much less “antique” than one might think. “However, there were a lot of strange noises in the ceilings and walls!” Rather, it was remodeled in the 1960s.

According to Melissa Potopea, who seemed to have some insight into the house’s supernatural history, “most likely the haunting will stay tied to the ground and whoever lives in the new house they build will deal with it.” It seemed like the history of the mansion was an indelible part of the land itself, and stories of its haunting will live on.

As the search continues for a brave soul willing to take on the challenge of living in this haunted mansion, the legend of Adele and her antics in the pot lives on. While some may be tempted by the prospect of a free property, others will no doubt heed the warnings of those who have experienced the mansion’s terrifying secrets first hand. The new owner of the mansion, whoever it may be, will inherit not only a piece of property, but also a rich tapestry of ghost stories and unexplained phenomena that have become an integral part of its history.
