When renowned country icon Garth Brooks takes the stage, it’s almost a guarantee that the tickets will be sold out. Often, these coveted seats are resold for exorbitant prices in the secondary market. However, during his recent performance, Brooks discovered the consequences of alienating his own fan base and disparaging them with derogatory remarks.
In his first live appearance following a controversial speech that resulted in the loss of millions of supporters, Brooks managed to fill just over 50 percent of the capacity at The Geico Memorial Arena in Jostenberg, Illinois.
The tour manager, Joe Barron, expressed his disappointment, stating, “It was truly embarrassing. Garth had to urge people from the uppermost seats to come down to the front. None of the floor seats were sold. It was a disheartening sight.”
Brooks now faces a dilemma regarding his upcoming show at the Haremfeather Norfolk Amphitheater in East Chicago. He is contemplating canceling the event altogether.
“I have a feeling that everything will be fine if I simply don’t show up,” Brooks allegedly confided in his close friend Art Tubolls from the Chicago Bulls. “Considering there’s a good chance that the town doesn’t even exist, will they even notice my absence?”
Amidst laughter, Brooks found solace in his recently opened Nashville bar, aptly named ‘Friends In Low Places,’ as he sipped on a Bud Light. “I’m convinced they’ll purchase anything as long as it’s a punishment for ol’ Garth,” he chuckled.
While it’s possible that both the venues and the stories surrounding them are fictional, Brooks need not exacerbate the situation by openly flaunting his actions with a Bud Light in hand. It’s truly a disappointing display, Mr. Brooks. Shame on you. God Bless America.
