Dolly Parton Presses Pause on Las Vegas Residency Due to Health Concerns
Could Dolly Parton’s glittering return to the Las Vegas stage be on hold longer than fans hoped? That’s the question many asked after the beloved music icon revealed she’s postponing her anticipated residency—citing personal health matters that require attention.
The country legend made the announcement directly to her fans, explaining that the December 2025 shows originally planned for Caesars Palace will now be pushed back to late 2026.

A Personal Message from Dolly
In her trademark mix of honesty and humor, Parton, now 79, shared the news on social media:
“I want you to hear it straight from me: I need to reschedule my Vegas shows. Turns out I’ve got a few health issues to deal with—doctor’s orders. They’re recommending a couple of procedures, and as much as I’d love to push through, I need to take their advice.”
She quipped that it’s her “100,000-mile tune-up,” clarifying it’s not cosmetic and adding, “Just keeping things running under the hood.”
While the star emphasized that she’s still involved in creative work behind the scenes from her home in Nashville, she admitted she won’t be able to rehearse or prepare for the kind of high-caliber show she expects to deliver.
“Y’all deserve the very best. And if I can’t give you a full-on Dolly show, it’s better to wait until I can,” she said.
Reassuring Fans: She’s Not Done Yet
Despite the delay, Parton made one thing very clear: this is not a farewell.
“I’m not hanging up the microphone—not yet. The good Lord hasn’t told me it’s time. I think He’s just telling me to slow down a bit. I appreciate your patience and your prayers.”
What’s Changing—and What’s Not
The postponed performances, titled “Dolly: Live in Las Vegas,” were scheduled to run from December 4 to 13, 2025, aligning with the annual National Finals Rodeo—a major draw for country fans.
The new dates are now set for:
September 17, 19, 20, 23, 25, and 26, 2026
The residency marks her first extended Las Vegas engagement since 1993 and was set to be staged at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace—a venue known for hosting some of music’s biggest acts.
Fans who already bought tickets need not worry—existing tickets will automatically transfer to the new dates. Those who prefer a refund will be provided with clear instructions via email from the ticket vendor.
A Brief Health Setback, Not the End of the Road
This isn’t Dolly’s first recent health-related delay. Earlier this month, she was forced to skip the unveiling of a new attraction at Dollywood due to a painful kidney stone. Still, she’s been active with various creative projects, including ongoing music development and philanthropy.

Back when the residency was announced in June, Parton was enthusiastic about returning to Las Vegas:
“It’s been a long time since I performed in Vegas. I’ve always loved it there, and I couldn’t be more excited to bring a show back to that stage.”
Looking Ahead: The Spotlight Will Shine Again
While the curtain may remain closed for now, Dolly Parton’s iconic spirit and love for performing are far from fading. Her transparency about health and the importance of rest offers an important reminder: even living legends need time to recharge.
And when she does return in 2026, fans can expect nothing less than a spectacular, heartfelt celebration—full of sparkle, storytelling, and the unmistakable charm that only Dolly can deliver.
