The kindness of a foreigner that changed my life
It is strange how life can unexpectedly turn.
At one point you feel that you are barely held, and the next meeting will change everything. I never imagined that a random stranger would change the course of my life, but what happened that the rainy evening in my heart still persists, even decades later.
When you deal with conflicts with your father -in -law and stress at work, it is easy to feel that kindness disappears from the world. But sometimes an unexpected act of compassion from a foreigner can remind us that kindness still exists. This story is proof of that.
At the age of 17 I became a mother, and shortly afterwards my son and I went in our independent ways. Without support from my parents, I tried to meet the goals. In the end I ran out of food and found myself in a desperate situation. When I held my one -year -old son in my arms, I turned my friends for help, but they couldn’t help me either.
I felt lost and hopeless, I wandered aimlessly through the streets, and tears ran down my face. At that time, a car pulled out next to me and a man emerged into his window. “Come on, I’ll give you a ride,” he said.
I hesitated first. But with the fact that the rain threw itself down and nowhere else, I decided to accept his offer.
When we drove, I shared my fighting with him. He listened carefully and then handed me $ 100 to my astonishment.
This money allowed me to pay for children’s care and start looking for a job. Suddenly we did not collapse, but his generosity changed the course of my life.
Now, 30 years later, my son is an adult, but I’m still thinking about the kindness of the stranger. His simple but strong act of generosity gave me hope when I needed it most, and reminded me that even in the darkest moments he has kindness to change his lives.
Conclusion
The deeds of kindness, no matter how small, can leave a lasting impact. The stranger might not have realized it at the time, but his generosity changed the course of my life. His simple gesture gave me the power to proceed forward, find stability and build a better future for my son.
Now, 30 years later, I still wear his kindness in my heart. It serves as a reminder that even in the darkest times there are good people in the world – people who selflessly help others without expecting anything in return. And because of him, I try to pay this kindness forward and hope to change someone else’s life as in mine.
