A Mother’s Worst Nightmare: Toddler Mauled to Death at Unlicensed Daycare
It began like any other morning — a quick breakfast, a goodbye kiss, and a mother’s quiet sigh of relief as she headed to work, trusting her son was in safe hands. But by the afternoon, that peace was shattered.
When Adrianna Jones followed her gut feeling and left work early, she arrived at a nightmare she could never have imagined — her two-year-old son had been mauled to death at the very daycare she believed would protect him.
VALDOSTA, GEORGIA — What was supposed to be an ordinary day turned into unimaginable tragedy for Adrianna Jones, whose two-year-old son, Kaimir, was killed by two Rottweilers while in the care of an unlicensed home daycare.

The horrifying incident occurred on October 4, when 48-year-old Stacy Wheeler Cobb, who ran the daycare out of her home, allegedly fell asleep for more than two hours, leaving Kaimir unsupervised.
According to investigators, during that time, the toddler somehow wandered out of the house and opened the kennel where the two large dogs were kept. Moments later, the Rottweilers attacked. By the time Cobb awoke and realized what had happened, it was too late — the child was already gone.
First responders rushed to the scene but could only confirm the heartbreaking truth: Kaimir had died from his injuries.
For Adrianna, the discovery of her son’s death came in the most gut-wrenching way imaginable. Hours had passed without any updates from the daycare — something that immediately triggered her concern.
“My intuition told me something was wrong,” she wrote on GoFundMe. “The owner usually messages me throughout the day, but this time, nothing. I left work early and when I arrived, there were police everywhere — taking pictures, collecting evidence. What I saw will haunt me forever.”
Authorities have since arrested Cobb, charging her with second-degree murder and second-degree cruelty to children. Valdosta Police Chief Leslie Manahan condemned the negligence that led to the boy’s death, calling it “a horrific and preventable tragedy.”
“Because of this offender’s carelessness, a mother has lost her child,” Manahan said. “We extend our deepest condolences to the family.”
Investigators confirmed that Kaimir was the only child present in the home that day — though typically, Cobb looked after as many as 10 children.
Now, Adrianna is demanding justice for her son and accountability for what she calls “an unforgivable act of neglect.”

“My baby deserves justice,” she said tearfully in an interview with WLAB. “Please help me keep his name alive. He deserves to be remembered.”
Kaimir’s grandfather echoed the family’s grief, saying no parent should ever have to endure this kind of loss.
“We trusted her,” he said. “We thought he was safe. Instead, our boy is gone.”
The Valdosta Police Department continues to investigate how the toddler managed to reach and open the kennel, a detail that remains unclear.
Meanwhile, a GoFundMe campaign launched by Adrianna has raised over $25,000 to cover funeral expenses and memorial services for her son.

“I didn’t have life insurance for my baby,” Adrianna wrote. “I’m just asking for help to give him the memorial he deserves. Thank you to everyone who’s shown love and support during this nightmare.”
Heartbreaking Conclusion
What was meant to be a safe haven became a house of horror. A mother’s intuition — often dismissed as mere worry — turned out to be the only warning sign of the unthinkable.
As the community rallies around Adrianna Jones, the tragedy of little Kaimir’s death serves as a painful reminder of the dangers posed by unlicensed childcare and the heavy price of neglect.
May his memory shine brighter than the darkness that took him. Rest in peace, sweet Kaimir.
