I recently spent $6,500 on a registered Black Angus bull.
After putting him out with the herd, all he did was eat grass and completely ignore the cows.
I started to wonder if I’d overpaid for this bull. So, I called the vet to check him out.
The vet said the bull was healthy but probably just a bit young. He gave me some pills to feed him once a day.
Within two days, the bull was servicing all my cows—and even broke through the fence to breed with my neighbor’s cows!
He’s like a machine now. I have no idea what was in those pills the vet gave me, but they sure do taste like peppermint!
From doubting the bull’s value to witnessing his extraordinary transformation, this experience has been nothing short of remarkable. Initially, I was frustrated, thinking I had made a costly mistake. Spending $6,500 on an animal that seemed uninterested in doing its job was disheartening. However, seeking professional advice proved to be the turning point.
The vet’s intervention not only reassured me about the bull’s health but also introduced a solution that worked wonders. After just a couple of days on the prescribed pills, the bull became unstoppable. His sudden vigor and determination left me astonished, as he went above and beyond his duties—even extending his enthusiasm to my neighbor’s herd.
This experience taught me the importance of patience and trusting experts when faced with challenges. It also left me with a bit of humor and curiosity about those peppermint-flavored pills that brought such dramatic results. Life on the farm is never dull, and this story will undoubtedly become one of my favorites to share.
