Johnny Wactor, best known for his role as Brand Corbin on General Hospital (GH), has died at the age of 37.
Wactor was shot and died in downtown Los Angeles, according to TMZ.
The late actor’s mother, Scarlett Wactor, told the news source that her son and his colleagues saw three people tampering with his car. Although Wactor did not approach the men, he was shot before they left the area.
He was taken to the hospital by paramedics, who arrived just after three in the morning when they pronounced him dead.
From 2020 to 2022, Wactor appeared on the ABC daytime soap opera. His character, Brando Corbin, debuted in the series as the presumed dead son of Gladys (Bonnie Burroughs).
After being stabbed by The Hook, Brando eventually died and married Sasha (Sofia Mattsson).
Wactor’s co-workers and acquaintances expressed their condolences.
His wife and eventual widow Mattsson revealed on screen that she was “absolutely heartbroken”.

After hearing the news, actor John Lindstrom expressed his sadness and felt “sick”. “Johnny was one of those rare young men in the business who was kind, humble, unassuming, and always considerate of others,” he continued. A gifted young man who only wanted to spread his talent around the world.”
“I know it’s not possible, but I wish I had enough love to fill the void that his loved ones are feeling right now. Johnny will be missed on this plane,” he continued.

“Saddened and angry to hear that actor Johnny Wactor has been shot and killed by suspects trying to steal his catalytic converter,” TV presenter Frank Buckley paid tribute. In 2021, he attended a staged reading of one of Elena’s scripts. He was excellent in this part and incredibly kind. My condolences to his family.”
Producer and journalist Michael Fairman was among those who shared their sadness at Wactor’s untimely death.

Johnny expressed his gratitude to his supporters for their support and confirmed their participation in an Instagram video that has since been removed. Regardless of whether they were excited or horrified by the loss of his character, he thanked them and called them the “greatest” people on the planet for their enthusiasm and support.
Discussing his involvement with General Hospital, Wactor said, “We got to show up and bring these stories and these characters to life. And that just adds to the sweetness of our job. Acting is already the most amazing job in the world. I feel incredibly lucky to have been witnessing your interest and the depth of your involvement and I will truly miss you all.”
His mother and younger brothers Grant and Lance survive him.
