A love story that has changed
Kelly Clarkson, the first winner of the American idol, amazed the audience with her incredible voice and sincere text. It will remain one of the most successful talents that emerge from the show.
Although her career was rising, her relationship with Brandon Blackstock – Stepson Legend of Country Music Reb Mcentire – was equally emotionally intense, but for very different reasons.
Singer “Amithe Lighs” and her former manager in 2013 tied a knot and created the power that fans adored. Their chemistry, both on stage and outside, looked undeniable.
But in June 2020, after almost seven years of marriage, Clarkson, now 42, asked for divorce and quoted irreconcilable differences.
Recently, Page Six said that the singer felt lonely, even though he married Blackstock, now 48.
“Over time, Kelly did not feel as if she had a real partner,” the initiate shared. “She felt free in many ways, even though they were still married.”
Legal battle for asset
This was followed by a lengthy and complicated legal struggle for finance, childcare and ownership of their Montana ranch $ 10.4 million.
The large property with its log cabins, picturesque landscapes and calm pastures should have been for Clarkson’s concession. But Blackstock had different plans – he saw it as his ideal ranching headquarters. This disagreement stimulated their battle in the courtroom.
Who really owned the ranch?
During their divorce proceedings, Blackstock claimed that the relocation would disrupt his new career as a full -time rank.
In 2021, however, the judge decided in favor of Clarkson and said that her property belongs only to a premarital agreement.
Judicial documents cited by people confirmed:
“Montana Ranch and other real estate in Montana are not owned together, as required by the premarital agreement to be considered marital assets. Therefore, the court refuses [Blackstock] that real estate should be divided 50/50.”
The decision was the main victory for Clarkson, but there was only one problem – Blackstock refused to leave.
Despite the court’s decision, he stayed on the ranch and claimed that he needed time to cross his business. He was allowed to remain temporarily and pay $ 12,500 per month in rent, but finally moved in June 2022.
Life after divorce
Clarkson was awarded primary care for their two children – daughter River, 10 and Son Remington, 8. Since then she has moved to New York.
In 2023, the court ordered Blackstock to pay the Clarkson $ 2.6 million after it was found that he had exceeded his managerial role and unjustifically profited from his career.
Clarkson focused on the end of her marriage and shared with people:
“The most difficult part of the divorce, especially when it is public, is that people think they know the whole story. But it wasn’t a decision overnight. I wanted it to work. I wanted it to be great. But sometimes things just don’t happen.”
A new journey of Blackstock
Now she fully embraced the cowboy lifestyle, Blackstock founded the Valley View Rodeo, aimed at preserving Western traditions.
Interestingly, his executive assistant Brittany Jones previously worked as a personal assistant Clarkson led by Blackstock in Los Angeles. According to her profile LinkedIn, after Clarkson changed management, Jones moved to work for cattle operations Blackstock in Montana.
