Wearing t-shirts supporting drag queens, they took the moment to highlight their belief in the importance of drag as an art form and the need to protect the rights of the LGBTQ+ community.
The song “Saturday in the Park” by Chicago was sung by Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick in honor of the nation’s founding. Sedgwick hummed her favorite instrument, the kazoo, while Bacon played the guitar. The two worked together on vocals.
Bacon, 64, said, “Saturday in the park / I think it was the Fourth of July,” as Sedgwick, 57, swayed between the couple’s goats and pigs. Sedgwick added her husband’s kazoo to the song while she balanced on some goat droppings on the ground.
Eventually, the Closer actress joined in and changed some of the lyrics to fit the scene: “Goats buck, pigs dance.” “My wife eats ice cream,” they sang afterward, and Sedgwick then took a delicate bite.
The pair sang together before Sedgwick had a solo kazoo performance. Bacon yelled at his wife, “Play that thing!” At the end of the video, they shared a kiss and wished viewers a “Happy Fourth of July”.
Bacon and Sedgwick hosted admirers at previous meetings in the backyards. They split their time between New York City and Los Angeles. They also have three alpacas, two pigs, three miniature horses, and four goats on their farm in Connecticut.
The two gave another farm-music rendition of the Beatles’ “Two of Us” in 2022. While pigs and goats abounded in the latest sing-along on Instagram, Bacon, and Sedgwick sat next to one of their miniature horses in 2022.
When they’re not belting out songs from the 70s, Sedgwick and Bacon can often be seen dancing to their heart’s content. In a recent video, the couple is seen dancing to Taylor Swift’s “Karma.” When several states passed anti-trans laws, the two wore matching t-shirts to demonstrate their support for drag queens. The t-shirts read, “Drag and drop is an art, and drag and drop is a law.”
