Kid Rock Contributes $5,000 to Fundraiser for Former Marine Involved in Chokehold Incident with Jordan Neely.

Kid Rock has contributed $5,000 to a fundraiser for Daniel Penny, the former Marine accused of placing Jordan Neely in a chokehold that was deadly.

Neely, 30, passed away on May 1 after being placed in a chokehold for 15 minutes, reportedly by 24-year-old Daniel Penny, a former Marine, who has since turned himself in after being charged with manslaughter.

The incident was captured on camera when Neely was ranting about how hungry and thirsty he was, but he wasn’t acting violently towards any other riders, according to witnesses on the Manhattan tube.

After being put in a chokehold for 15 minutes, Neely was killed, but no one was taken into custody there.

After surrendering himself, Penny was detained and his bail was set at £100,000. Since then, people have flocked to a GiveSendGo website to defend Penny.

Over $2.4 million has been donated as of this writing for the former Marine’s legal expenses, with the fundraiser saying that any further funds will go to organizations that support mental health.

Since then, Kid Rock, a country artist whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, has donated $5,000 to the page and given the 24-year-old his support.

Mr. Penny is a brave man. Kid Rock, 52, said on the Christian fundraising website, “Alvin Bragg is a POS.

Neely’s mental health apparently started to deteriorate when his mother was purportedly strangled to death and placed into a suitcase when he was 14 years old, according to The New York Post.

He became a “complete mess” at the age of 14, according to his aunt Carolyn Neely, and he didn’t receive the right care for his mental health issues.

Carolyn stated to the publication: “Since my sister Christie was killed in 2007, he has never been the same […]” He was greatly affected by it. He first experienced depression, which worsened over time. He had PTSD and schizophrenia.

His ailment was well known to doctors, and he required care for it. He was basically duped by the entire system. He slipped through the system’s gaps.

The Manhattan District Attorney’s office had accused Penny of second-degree manslaughter prior to his surrender on May 12.

People started congregating around the tube station where Neely died to protest for greater help for persons with poor mental health after his death provoked outrage throughout the nation.

According to counsel for Penny, who spoke to CBS News, he intervened to “protect himself and his fellow New Yorkers.”

In their statement, Penny’s legal representatives expressed their confidence that once a comprehensive examination of all the facts and circumstances related to this tragic incident is conducted, Penny will be completely cleared of any culpability. They further asserted that Neely had been displaying aggressive behavior and posing threats not only to Penny but also to other passengers. According to them, Penny and the others involved acted in self-defense to protect themselves.

Penny’s defense team maintains that there was never any intention on his part to cause harm to the 30-year-old victim and that his death was an unforeseen and tragic accident. Our sympathies and support remain with all those who have been affected by this devastating event.

As this heartbreaking incident unfolds, our thoughts go out to all affected by this devastating tragedy.
