In an official statement on 30 October, Buckingham Palace said:
“His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles, and Honours of Prince Andrew. His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to remain in residence. Formal notice has now been served requiring the surrender of this lease, and he will relocate to alternative private accommodation. These actions are considered necessary, notwithstanding his continued denial of the allegations against him.”
Andrew’s new home is reportedly a smaller property on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, with the relocation privately funded by King Charles. Following the conclusion of the formal process, Andrew will be known simply as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
